At Campo de Artemisa, the Cienfuegos Elefantes and Artemisa Rojos were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Behind an impressive start by Ramón Contreras, Artemisa beat Cienfuegos, 5-2. The Torneo Occidental Artemisa-leading Rojos have a record of 36-32.

In the bottom of the fourth, Artemisa second baseman Bermudo Saavedra had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 2nd and one out, Saavedra stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 3-2, Artemisa. For the game, he was 1-2 with a walk.

Artemisa manager Ramón de León said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
