The Pinar del Rio Guajiros cruised to a win over the Santa Clara Leopardos, 12-2, at El Campo de los Guajiros. Jorge Nova, who finished 5th in the TOCC in home runs with 3 in 1906, led the way, going 4-for-4 for Pinar del Rio. René Gildo, the winning pitcher, improved to 8-8. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 2. Pinar del Rio, at 30-55, occupies third place in the Torneo Occidental Artemisa.

A key moment came with one out in the bottom of the sixth. That's when Nova hit a changeup from Pedro García for a 2-run single, putting Pinar del Rio up, 5-2.

"They beat us like the proverbial rented mule," said losing manager Jorge Santana.
