|
The Manzanillo Martenos scored a tight, 3-2 win versus the Las Tunas Escultores at Estadio de los Escultores. Manzanillo pitcher Esteban Torres held his own in the contest. Víctor Rivera, who finished 5th in the TORI in wins with 19 in 1908, earned the save for Manzanillo. The win makes Manzanillo 61-37.
Doing his part for Manzanillo was first baseman Bill McAleer, who stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth. For the game, McAleer was 1 for 4.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Torres.
