Mariachis Over Chacales, 4-2

Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Nayarit Mariachis and Sonora Chacales.
Nayarit pitcher Ángel Cavazos had a large part in his team subduing the Sonora Chacales, 4-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. The winning pitcher was Cavazos, now 1-1. He tossed 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 3. Picking up his 4th save was 31-year old right-handed pitcher Julián Rentería.
The Mariachis got a big at-bat from right fielder Eamonn Sheridan. For the game, Sheridan was 1 for 3 with a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing triple. His 4th triple of the season gave Nayarit a 3-1 lead.
"Ángel had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Nayarit manager Alfredo Fraijo.
The defeat makes Sonora 13-14.
