Corsarios Hang 5-3 Loss on Calaveras
|
Parque de Campeche was the site for Sur action featuring the Michoacan Calaveras and Campeche Corsarios.
Despite a great performance by Michoacan shortstop Fabricio Loera, the Campeche Corsarios defeated the Calaveras by the score of 5-3 at Parque de Campeche. Loera was 4-4 with a triple and 2 doubles. The winning pitcher was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Mórsimo Becerril. He tossed 100 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 10 hits.
In the bottom of the 4th, Campeche took the lead on a 2-run single by Justo Márquez. At the time, the Corsarios were trailing 2-1, but Márquez's hit with two outs against Michoacan pitcher Rodrigo Martínez put them in front, 3-2.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Márquez told the Campeche News. "Whatever it takes."
At 38-23, the Corsarios find themselves in second place in the Sur.
