Zapotecos Handle Michoacan, Snag 5-1 Win
|
No one was more impactful than Kian Stewart in the 5-1 Oaxaca win over Michoacan. Stewart, who is tied for 6th in the LS in runs scored with 32, was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Teobaldo Romero picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-1. Gobrías Ruiz, who finished 3rd in the LS in strikeouts with 114 in 1903, was tagged with the loss. The Zapotecos saw their record improve to 30-34.
Oaxaca relied on the hitting of Fernando Cisneros to pick up the win. The catcher ripped a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Zapotecos on top, 1-0. For the game, Cisneros had 1 triple and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
