Corsarios 5-3 Victors Over Merida

The Campeche Corsarios stopped the Merida Trovadores, 5-3, at Parque de los Trovadores. The Corsarios got a big game from Pelayo Rodríguez, who was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Corsarios, at 42-24, sit in first place in the Sur.
Rodríguez contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Campeche in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Rodríguez took a slider from Anselmo Guaderrama and stroked the double to left. His 12th double of the season allowed the Corsarios to leap in front, 3-2.
"We ground out the win," said Rodríguez. "That's all that matters."
