The Coahuila Carboneros scooped up a win at Parque de los Mariachis, dumping the Nayarit Mariachis, 8-2. Ben Downie, who is tied for 4th in the LN in quality starts with 16, was essential to his team's success. Downie, now 7-8, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 1, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. The Carboneros improved to 42-30.

The fans who came to support the Carboneros were pleased with the outcome. It was what they had hoped for when they passed through the turnstiles at Parque de los Mariachis.

"Ben's stuff looked really, really crisp," said Esteban Bellán, the Carboneros manager.
