In the 6-3 Monterrey win over Nayarit, the impact of Adalberto Llano was substantial. Llano, who finished 4th in the LN in wins above replacement with 5.6 in 1908, went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Picking up the save was 31-year old left-handed pitcher Belasco Ortiz. The Cerveceros saw their win-loss record go to 39-35. At the same time, the Mariachis fell to 34-40.
Monterrey took a 5-0 lead on Llano's 1st home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Miguel Castañeda in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Monterrey to the win.
"Adalberto was ready to go. Big day for him," said Monterrey manager Anatolio Contreras.
