For the home crowd, it was a thrilling walk-off win.
With center fielder Rodulfo Salazar leading the charge, the Ciudad Mexico Volcanes defeated the Campeche Corsarios, 7-6, at Estadio Federal. Salazar, who is tied for 7th in the LS with a .414 slugging percentage, was 3-5 with 2 triples, while scoring 2 and driving in 5. With the win, Ciudad Mexico has a record of 46-25. Campeche falls to 39-33.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Salazar hit a changeup from Salustiano Contreras for a run-scoring single. The Volcanes, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Salazar said.
