Mariachis Get Dramatic 8-7 Triumph
The Nayarit Mariachis used the hitting of second baseman Dermot Brough to subdue the Durango Alacranes, 8-7, in 14 innings. For the game, Brough went 4-8 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Nayarit reliever Emanuel Ruiz picked up the win, upping his record to 10-7. Cristóbal Andrade took the loss. Nayarit is 8th in the Norte with a record of 37-40.

Batting in the bottom of the 14th, 29-year old center fielder Ramón Sena had a real shot to win the game. Durango pitcher Cristóbal Andrade was determined not to let it happen. But with no outs, Sena hit a run-scoring single. The Mariachis had a walk-off triumph.

"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Brough told the Nayarit Citizen. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
