The Coahuila Carboneros picked up a win at Estadio de Durango, topping the Durango Alacranes, 5-3. On the mound for Coahuila was left-hander Ben Downie. He played a principal role in the triumph. The 10th-place Alacranes have lost 5 consecutive games.

Coahuila used a clutch at-bat from Salvador Zúñiga to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Carboneros ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Being in first place now is good," said Zúñiga. "Being in first at the end of the season is better. That's our goal."
