Culiacan took on Guanajuato in front of a lively crowd.

Culiacan turned a good effort from starter Juan Pérez into a win over the Guanajuato Libertadores at Parque de la Libertad. The Galanes won the game, 4-2. Anatolio Aponte closed it out for his 2nd save.

Hestio Peña had a big hit for Culiacan in the top of the first inning. With Culiacan leading 1-0, Peña hit a run-scoring triple. It was his 7th triple of the season and put the Galanes up, 2-0.

"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Pérez. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."

The second-place Galanes now have a win-loss record of 45-37.
