Oaxaca Rallies for 1-0 Victory
|
At Campo de Oaxaca, the Chiapas Quetzales and Oaxaca Zapotecos were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
In a tight game between the Chiapas Quetzales and the Oaxaca Zapotecos, nobody was more important for the winners than Leandro Anaya. Anaya was masterful in the 1-0 win. The winner in relief was Juan Carlos Acosta. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 11-6.
Had Anaya not come through in the bottom of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Anaya hit a run-scoring single. The Zapotecos took the lead, 1-0, and never looked back.
"Winning never gets old," said Anaya.
The setback makes Chiapas 42-39.
