Zapotecos Rally to Win
|
Wet weather did not postpone the Oaxaca-Toluca ballgame.
The Oaxaca Zapotecos topped the Toluca Chorizos, 3-2, in Sur action at La Salchichera. The standout performance belonged to Oaxaca pitcher and Sayula, Mexico, native Tomás López. The winner was López. He threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Abdón Martínez. Jorge Castro finished to wrap up his 5th save.
Filóstrato Machuca made it 3-2, in favor of Oaxaca when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with one out in the top of the eighth. The Zapotecos went on to win.
"I'm not ready for the rocking chair yet," said López.
The Zapotecos now have a record of 39-46.
