Chorizos Slap 2-0 Loss on Oaxaca
|
The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Toluca fans at La Salchichera.
The Toluca Chorizos picked up a win at La Salchichera, dropping the Oaxaca Zapotecos, 2-0. Palamedes Serrano, who led the LN in innings pitched with 325.2 in 1902, was the difference-maker. Aristarco Paredes finished the game for Toluca and earned his 7th save.
Toluca catcher Balbino Cruz helped the Chorizos go up, 1-0, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Cruz hit a run-scoring single off Oaxaca pitcher Marco Flores.
"The object of the game is to score more runs than they do," said Cruz. "Mission accomplished."
Their 48-37 record puts the Chorizos 5th in the Sur.
