Soggy conditions did not keep Hidalgo and Oaxaca from playing their scheduled game.
Hidalgo Cornicos pitcher José López was in top form, leading his team past the Oaxaca Zapotecos, 5-0. López, now 3-6, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing no runs.
Hidalgo took the lead, 1-0, on Hernán Soriano's 4th triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Soriano hit in the top of the seventh, left Oaxaca pitcher Tafari Mungai crestfallen.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Soriano said after the game.
The win makes Hidalgo 30-58.
