A 4-RBI performance from the 24-year old second baseman Hernán Soriano helped the Hidalgo Cornicos beat the Acapulco Aztecas, 8-7. Hidalgo pitcher Julio Irizarry got the win. He's now 8-9. Farón Pedroza was tagged with the loss. The last-place Cornicos improved to 33-60.

In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 7-7, 23-year old third baseman Azim Isakov won it for Hidalgo. With the bases loaded, Isakov hit a 2-2 fastball from Farón Pedroza for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 8-7 win.

"We've got some diehard fans," said Isakov. "It's great to have their support."
