The Acapulco Aztecas went down to defeat to Senén Tavárez and his Ciudad Mexico teammates. The final score was 3-2, in favor of the Volcanes. René Gálvez, who finished 5th in the LS in ERA with 2.01 in 1908, was the winner in relief. His record is now 3-0. The losing pitcher was Santiago Márquez. The save went to Colin Were, his 16th this season.

Tobías Suárez had a direct impact on the outcome. Suárez contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Ciudad Mexico up, 3-2.

"Banging out wins is what it's all about," said Suárez.

With the win, the Volcanes improved to 53-43.
