Nayarit Triumphs with Late Surge
The Coahuila Carboneros went down to defeat to Leucipo Hernández and his Nayarit teammates. The final score was 5-2, Mariachis, in 10 innings. The winner was Hernández. He threw 9.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Agapito García. Raúl García, who is tied for 2nd in the LN in holds with 2, earned the save for Nayarit.

Nayarit used the timely hitting of Silvestre Santeliz to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Mariachis on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Our team showed some gumption," said Santeliz. "I like it."

At 49-53, the Mariachis find themselves in 9th place in the Norte.
