The Chiapas Quetzales beat the Hidalgo Cornicos, 6-3, at Parque de los Quetzales. Jumacao Sánchez, who led the LS in extra base hits with 39 last year, starred for Chiapas. He went 3-4 with a triple and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. With the win, Chiapas has a record of 57-52. Hidalgo falls to 46-63.

Pablo Pérez came through for Chiapas when he hit a 2-run single in the bottom of the fifth. With the bases loaded, he hit a 1-0 curveball to left field, staking his team to a 5-3 lead.

"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Sánchez. "I just want to win ballgames."
