The Volcanes grabbed a win, 3-2, at Estadio Federal, overcoming a fine effort from Hidalgo pitcher Ángel Torres. Torres went 10 innings and allowed 2 runs. Today's win puts Ciudad Mexico at 60-49, while Hidalgo falls to 41-69.

Up to bat in the bottom of the 12th, 28-year old third baseman Américo Peralta had a chance to be the hero. Hidalgo pitcher Julio Irizarry wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Peralta hit a sacrifice fly. The Volcanes had themselves a thrilling win.

"We'll kick back a while," said Peralta, "and then get ready for the next one."
