Ángel Ortega, who is tied for 7th in the LS in innings pitched with 243.1, was locked in. The right-hander led the Acapulco Aztecas to a 4-3 win against the Veracruz Vigias at Parque de Acapulco. Reliever Santiago Márquez picked up the win. His record improves to 11-15. Neftalí Montes, who finished 2nd in the LS in saves with 10 in 1906, took the loss. Acapulco is 8th in the Sur with a record of 52-60.

Batting in the bottom of the 12th, 25-year old first baseman Édgar López had a real shot to win the game. Veracruz pitcher Neftalí Montes was determined not to let it happen. But with one out, López hit a run-scoring single. The Aztecas had a walk-off triumph.

"Both teams played hard," said Acapulco manager Héctor Martín.
