Rodrigo Martínez brought his A-game to help Michoacan defeat the Veracruz Vigias, 2-1. In 8.1 innings, Martínez surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. The save went to Day Rochford, number 20 for him.
With one out in the bottom of the sixth, Saúl Ramírez hit a go-ahead, run-scoring double. It was his 30th double of the season and with it the Calaveras took a 2-1 lead.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Michoacan manager Pablo Sánchez.
Michoacan now has a record of 68-45 with the win.
