The game between Michoacan and Veracruz is in the books, despite a little rain.
The Michoacan Calaveras defeated the Veracruz Vigias, 9-3, at Campo Municipal de Morelia. Leading the charge for Michoacan was first baseman Saúl Ramírez. He went 2-3 with 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times. By defeating Veracruz, the second-place Calaveras improved to 70-45.
A key moment came in the bottom of the seventh inning when Calaveras catcher Livio Pedraza socked a 2-2 fastball to left for a run-scoring single, putting Michoacan up, 5-3.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Michoacan manager Pablo Sánchez.
