Mariachis Stick Colibris with 5-2 Loss
|
Nayarit Mariachis starter Miguel Castañeda hurled his team past the Nuevo Laredo Colibris, 5-2. Castañeda, now 10-14, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 4, and allowing 2 runs. Today's win puts Nayarit at 58-61, while Nuevo Laredo falls to 65-55.
Eamonn Sheridan was a prime factor in the win for the Mariachis. In the top of the second with two out, the 24-year old right fielder hit a run-scoring single. He was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Sheridan.
