The Veracruz Vigias beat the Campeche Corsarios, 5-2, at Parque de Campeche. Ranulfo Carrasco, in particular, was impressive. He was 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI. Veracruz starter Sebastián Ramírez was credited with the win after throwing 115 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 18-11. The third-place Vigias lifted their record to 70-52.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Acón Gutiérrez? The Veracruz third baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Vigias on top, 3-2. For the game, Gutiérrez had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
