Thanks in large part to first baseman Saúl Ramírez, the Michoacan Calaveras beat the Campeche Corsarios, 3-1. Ramírez went 4 for 4 with 4 singles. He drove in 2 runs. José Piñeda, the winner, is now 14-13. He struck out 2 and walked 5 over 8.1 innings, while allowing 1 run on 9 hits. The second-place Calaveras improved to 73-53.

Ramírez had a key at-bat in the top of the third to put Michoacan in front, 3-0. With the bases loaded, he hit a run-scoring single off Campeche pitcher Guillermo Longoria.

In postgame comments to the Michoacan Times, Ramírez said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
