Guanajuato and Culiacan took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.

The Libertadores grabbed a win, 6-3, at Campo de los Galanes, overcoming a fine effort from Culiacan pitcher Apolonio Rivera. Rivera went 8 innings and allowed 6 runs. Picking up his 1st save was 1903 Excelentísimo (LNM) winner Leovigildo Méndez.

The Libertadores got an important contribution from third baseman Héctor Valdés, who in the top of the first hit a 0-2 changeup to right-center for a 2-run triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season and put the Libertadores ahead, 3-0.

"Winning is seldom easy in this league," said Valdés.

Guanajuato, now 58-70, holds down 9th place in the Norte.
