The rain could not keep the home crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.

Campeche pitcher Elía Hernández did his part in helping his team beat the Michoacan Calaveras, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Campeche is now 79-49, Michoacan 73-54.

Late in the game, first baseman Víctor González had a big at-bat for Campeche. In the bottom of the eighth, he hit a run-scoring single off Gerardo Navarro. The play gave the Corsarios a 4-3 lead.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Campeche manager Juan Vences.
