The Nacogdoches Roaches claimed a close win over the Tyler Pecan Kings, due in large part to Jorge Hopkins. The Nacogdoches right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-1 win. Hopkins got the win, improving to 3-1. He gave up 8 hits and walked 1 over 9 innings. He allowed 1 run. The victory makes Nacogdoches 13-5.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Declan Robinson? The 23-year old second baseman Robinson stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Nacogdoches up, 2-0. For the game, he was 2 for 3, including 1 double and 1 single.
