Caber Tossers Stumble, Lose 3-2 to Granite
|
The Aberdeen Granite racked up a win at Ballpark of Aberdeen, bumping off the Perth Caber Tossers, 3-2. Jaime Gámez, who started for Aberdeen, pitched effectively for his team. In 7.1 innings, Gámez surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. Vidal Ibarra, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
Making an impact for the home team was Miguel Hernández. In the bottom of the first, the 24-year old left fielder had a run-scoring ground out. That made the score 3-0, Granite.
"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Gámez.
Aberdeen now has a record of 35-19 with the win.
