Newport and Aberystwyth duked it out and the Stevedores came out victorious.

The Newport Stevedores topped the Aberystwyth Dragons, 6-3, in Baseball Federation of England & Wales action at Dragons Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Newport pitcher Neo Berndsson. Jay Boel earned the save for Newport, his 1st.

Newport took the lead, 6-3, on Matías Gómez's 4th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Aberystwyth pitcher Constancio Hernández in the top of the ninth.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Gómez.

After today's action, Newport sits at 16-45, while Aberystwyth falls to 28-33.
