Cadavers Earn Late 6-5 Win
The San Marcos Cadavers defeated the Waco Mammoths, 6-5, at Cadavers Park. San Marcos right fielder Niven Hayes had a superb performance. He went 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. San Marcos, at 43-24, occupies first place in the Eastern Association San Marcos Circuit.

Hayes had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-2 fastball from Félix Serna, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Cadavers a 6-4 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Hayes.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Hayes. "You've got to get results."
