The Perth Caber Tossers found a way to sneak past the Inverness Thistles, 4-3, in 10 innings. Perth pitcher Jorge Flores, for one, had a standout performance. Perth reliever Darío Benítez was the winner. His record is now 1-2. The losing pitcher was Víctor Hugo Velásquez. The win boosted Perth to 38-32.

In the bottom of the tenth, Julián Guzmán knew he could end it with one good swing of the bat. And he did, hitting a run-scoring single off Inverness pitcher Víctor Hugo Velásquez.

"This is a resilient bunch," said Perth manager Plutarco Valido.
