Flaminio Martínez had a strong outing for the Newport Stevedores against the Wrexham Druids at Stevedores Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 6-3 win. Alia Shrestha, who is tied for 4th in the BFE&W in saves with 7, earned the save for Newport. The last-place Stevedores improved to 27-57.

Making an impact for Newport was third baseman Estanislao Guardado. He drilled a 2-run double off Daniel Mediavilla in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Guardado was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

Newport manager Noé Anguiano called it "a darn good win."
