The Derby Rams beat the Sheffield Talons, 7-4. Derby pitcher and Tepeji, Mexico, native Marcos Flores led the way. The Rams, at 50-35, sit in first place in the Baseball Federation of England & Wales English Baseball Championship.

It could have been a different outcome for Derby, had it not been for Harris Marriott, the 20-year old left fielder . Marriott contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Derby up, 5-3.

"Marcos was dictating to their hitters," said Derby manager Stephen Withers.
