The Derby Rams downed the Coventry Motors, 5-1, at Motors Grounds. Stellar pitching by Marcos Flores had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is rated as the 70th best prospect by BNN, handcuffed his opponent all game. The first-place Rams improved to 61-37.

In the top of the fourth, Downey Murphy delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Derby center fielder hit a run-scoring double, putting the Rams in front, 5-1.

"We took home the win," said Murphy. "What's not to like?"
