Arcadians Win at Home, 3-1
|
The Cardiff Arcadians downed the Wrexham Druids, 3-1, at Ballpark of Cardiff. Stellar pitching by Josh Jones had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. Jones got the win, improving to 11-11. He gave up 8 hits and walked 2 over 9 innings. He allowed 1 run. The Arcadians raised their record to 59-41.
Benicio Aguayo took Wrexham hurler Carlos Arredondo deep in the bottom of the sixth. His 2-run home run put the Arcadians on top, 3-1. In all, Aguayo had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
Aguayo told a Cardiff Observer reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
