Claymores Tag Thistles with 5-4 Loss
|
Not everyone stuck through the 46-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
Despite a great performance by Inverness first baseman Esteban Silva, the Edinburgh Claymores defeated the Thistles by the score of 5-4 at Claymores Stadium. Silva went 2 for 2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit 2 times, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Valdemar Bulant went 8 innings for Edinburgh to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs. He scattered 9 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 1. His record improves to 2-3.
Leo McGrady, who is tied for 9th in the BFS&I in triples with 4, aided the Edinburgh cause with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder went 1-3 with a hit by pitch. He drove in 2 runs.
"I was a little disappointed," said Inverness manager Ryan Daniels. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
After today's action, Edinburgh sits at 61-42, while Inverness falls to 36-67.
