Though he had a terrific game, Constancio Ramos could not prevent his team, the Edinburgh Claymores, from absorbing a loss. Aberdeen won the game, 5-4. Ramos was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The first-place Granite lifted their record to 69-38.

In the bottom of the sixth, Aberdeen pinch hitter Cletus Buffy put his team on top. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit his 16th home run of the year. Edinburgh pitcher Valdemar Bulant served it up. Just like that, the Granite were ahead, 5-4.

Buffy said afterward that "winning is the goal."
