The Derby Rams downed the Birmingham Tradesmen, 2-1, at Tradesmen Grounds. Stellar pitching by Israel Tuan had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 7th in the BFE&W in complete games with 16, handcuffed his opponent all game. Earning the save was Illán Rosales. He's now cashed in 3 of 3 save opportunities. At 61-47, the Rams are currently first in the Baseball Federation of England & Wales English Baseball Championship.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Alfredo Ospina? The 23-year old right fielder Ospina stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put Derby up, 2-1. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.

"Israel's not intimidated by who's stepping into the batter's box," said Derby manager Stephen Withers.
