Conditions were not ideal but Belfast and Cork were able to put their game in the books.

A 4-RBI performance from second baseman Chris Corcoran led the Belfast Bards to a win over the Cork Salmon, 6-3. Patrick Bert, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 3 innings.

The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Belfast trailing 3-2, Corcoran jumped on a sinker from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Vavrin Splichal and hit a grand slam home run to left. With one swing, the Bards had a walk-off win.

"The crowd was raucous," said Corcoran.

With the win, the Bards improved to 55-60.
