Soggy conditions did not keep Limerick and Cork from playing their scheduled game.
The Limerick Gandelows converted a terrific effort from starter Luis de Paula into a win over the Cork Salmon at Salmon Stadium. The Gandelows won the game by a final score of 9-2. de Paula got the win, improving to 10-6. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 9 innings. He allowed 2 runs.
An important at-bat for the Gandelows came in the top of the third, when catcher Raúl Delgado stroked a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of Limerick. For the day, Delgado went 1-4 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI.
