The game between Derby and Birmingham is in the books, despite a little rain.

Starting pitcher Joel Price was a major factor in the 3-1 Derby Rams triumph over the Birmingham Tradesmen. The Rams, at 31-85, sit in last place in the Baseball Federation of England & Wales English Baseball Championship.

The Tradesmen had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Rams going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 30-year old center fielder Emanuel Ramírez came to the plate. Ramírez hit a 2-run home run on a 0-2 slider from Birmingham hurler Cástico González. It was Ramírez's 2nd home run of the year.

"Joel looked like he had more finish on his ball," said Derby manager Paul Parsons.
