The Birmingham Tradesmen knocked off the Derby Rams, 4-3, in Baseball Federation of England & Wales action at Tradesmen Grounds. Birmingham pitcher and Arroyo, Puerto Rico, native Roberto León had an outstanding performance. The win makes Birmingham 54-75.

Pío Fuentes had a direct impact on the outcome. Fuentes contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth inning to put Birmingham up, 4-3.

"You can't take yourself too seriously," León told the Birmingham Bulletin. "But at the end of the day, we do play to win ballgames."
