The rain came, as predicted, but the Inverness Thistles and Edinburgh Claymores were able to complete their ballgame.

The Inverness Thistles withstood an impressive performance by Edinburgh catcher Plutarco Sánchez to defeat the Claymores, 5-4, at Inverness Fields. Sánchez was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Inverness starter Boanerges Urías was credited with the win after throwing 103 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 10-11. Akhila Trusha collected his 4th save.

Tarquino Granado came through for Inverness when he hit a 2-run single in the bottom of the first. With the bases loaded, he hit a 0-2 splitter to right field, staking his team to a 2-0 lead.

"It feels good to get this one," Granado told the Inverness Today.

Inverness's record now stands at 42-75, placing them 5th in the Baseball Federation of Scotland & Ireland Lig Ball-steidhe na h-Alba.
