The Derry Maidens used the hitting of first baseman Zacarías Montez to subdue the Cork Salmon, 4-3, in 10 innings. For the game, Montez was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Maidens saw their record improve to 70-54.

The Maidens procured the win, in large part because of designated hitter Esteban Quezada. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.

"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Derry field general Edelmiro Pompa.
