Arcadians Knock Off Aberystwyth, 9-3
|
The Cardiff Arcadians had to overcome a big game from Aberystwyth first baseman Roberto Morales to leave Dragons Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning, 9-3. Morales was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Cardiff pitcher Sloan Mahoney got the win. He's now 21-8. Kyle Williams was tagged with the loss. Cardiff has won 5 straight, while Aberystwyth has lost 4 in a row.
Cardiff used the timely hitting of Eneas Morales to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Arcadians ahead, 6-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Morales told the Cardiff Observer.
