The Fukushima Kamome and Morioka Ayame left the fans buzzing.
The Fukushima Kamome went down to defeat to Seijun Kondo and his Morioka teammates. The final score was 2-0, in favor of the Ayame. Kondo, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 1, walking 5, and allowing no runs.
The Kamome had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Ayame going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old left fielder Yoshinori Kuramoto came to the plate. Kuramoto hit a run-scoring double on a 1-1 curveball from Fukushima hurler Baudelio Hernández. It was Kuramoto's 2nd double of the year.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said Kuramoto.
The Kamome drop to 6-8, as their stumbling start to the 1915 season continues.
